About the free water test.
What does the water test cost?
Nothing. The test is completely free with no obligation. If your water is fine, we'll tell you. We don't recommend a system to anyone who doesn't need one.
What does the test actually measure?
We test for chloramines, PFAS compounds, water hardness, iron, pH, total dissolved solids, and several other indicators relevant to Wilmington's water supply. We use calibrated field meters that give immediate results.
Does Wilmington's water need to be filtered?
Most homes we test in New Hanover and Brunswick counties have elevated chloramine levels and moderate hardness. Wilmington's water comes from the Cape Fear River, which has documented PFAS contamination from upstream industrial sources. We show you your specific numbers and let you decide.
How long does the test take?
About 20-30 minutes on-site. We come to you, test your tap water directly, and walk you through the results before we leave.
Do I have to buy something afterward?
